Art Show and Reception / Saturday, Sept. 5th / 4:00 - 6:00pm

The Tenafly Bicycle Workshop is proud to present the artwork of Mike von Wahlde.

Mike von Wahlde is a juggernaut, a spastic kid who is consistently concerned with capturing the dirt and the beautiful in his artwork. Formally schooled as a journalist and writer, Mike’s art is narrative in nature. Each piece tells a single unit of a larger story.

Mike is also a former professional bicycle mechanic, and écrou de rayon reflects his intimacy avec velo. There are two relationships that exist in the world of bicycles: that of the rider and the bicycle and that between mechanic and bicycle. écrou de rayon is an informed collection of parts that celebrate the whole: the romance that mechanics have with other people’s bicycles; the mechanical and organic running parallel; getting laid flat out at 70 mph, spinning out the 53/11; the hard and the soft, the curves and angles. The speed and the beauty. The love and the hate. The friction of it all.

Please join us for refreshments at the artist's reception.
